Doodlewash Prompt: Wheat

Did you know that wheat is used in particle board, paper, hair conditioners, adhesives, plastics, cups, golf tees, medical swabs, charcoal and more?

I don’t think it shows in the scan, but it ended up with almost an iridescent look around the wheat stalks, even though I didn’t use any metallics, iridescent, pearlescent or sparkly of any kind. I was surprised.

Did you know that according to folklore, bluebells ring at daybreak to wake the fairies? Probably not true, lol, but it’s fun to wonder what bluebells ringing might sound like.

    Eggplant Explosion

Artwork: Daniel Smith Watercolor and white gouache on Hahnemühle Cézanne cold pressed. I merged two Reference photos – from Suanpa and Moom22 on Pixabay.

Doodlewash Prompt: Eggplant. Thai eggplants are white, which I think means they most deserve the name ‘egg’plant. I added a variety of eggplant species in the background.

Did you know eggplants have more nicotine than any other plant? Why, you’d only have to eat 20-40 lbs in one sitting in order to get the same effect as smoking a cigarette!

    Green Apple Floating

Artwork: Zebra Zensations Pen, Daniel Smith Watercolor and white gouache o Hahnemühle Cézanne cold pressed. Reference photo courtesy of LeoArno on Pixabay.

Doodlewash Prompt: Green Apples. I noticed the apples were plural after painting this, so I’m going with the notion that all the other apples finally sank.

Did you know that an apples float because they are 25% air?

I did have a reference photo that I looked at for this, but I made many changes including turning a red apple green. I really struggled with the water, and values, and there are many things I would do differently now that I see it finished. Overall though, I’m happy with it.
