R is for Rose

#DoodlewashJanuary2022 Prompt: Rose.

Did you know that the Cathedral of Hildesheim, in Germany, has a rose bush growing on its wall, whose presence was documented as far back as A.D. 815? That makes it over 1000 years old!

  1. Wow, now that’s a long lasting rose bush. I love stories like that. I once read about a light bulb that was almost 100 years old and was still working in a fire station up in New England somewhere. It was supposedly one of the original ones that Edison made. The fire station was being remodeled and they were afraid that when the electricity was turned off to be rewired, the light bulb wouldn’t come back on. Pretty cool. 😀 Your rose is gorgeous!
