The Stout Scarab

  • #DoodlewashNovember2021: Stout.

Did you know that the Stout Scarab, built in the 1930’s and 1940’s, is considered the precursor to the minivan? They were hand-built, each was different, and only about 9 of them were ever made.

Automobiles are really out of my comfort zone and being in a hurry, I decided to make this a rather minimalist piece (in other words, I didn’t spend much time or effort on it, lol).

Artist Ambassador for Zebra Pens. I'm a self-taught artist who dances about with all sorts of artistic mediums. My main loves are Watercolor, Zentangle and Ballpoint pen. The subjects of my work are many and varied and change at whim. I'm a little bit crazy, but doesn't that come with being an artist? At my Life Imitates Doodles Blog, I post a list of resource links for Tangles, Tutorials and Giveaways two times a week. I also write reviews, hold giveaways and share my art work.

  1. I’ve never heard of this vehicle. Looks fun to draw. You could mix it all up like some of your mixed up animals.
