#DoodlewashJune2021 prompt: Honeysuckle,
Did you know that honeysuckle is considered an invasive plant, but it also has many health benefits?
I had some paper that I’d stained with butterfly peaflower tea earlier. Since it also has many health benefits, I decided it would be a good background for a honeysuckle plant. Okay – I really did it because I wanted to save time by not painting a background. The other sounds more profound though, so that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.

I kept looking for the butterfly. Haha! Then I figured it out.
I suspected I was going to confuse people with that title. But I did it anyway, lol!
Your art is so lovely I Love this!
My honeysuckle just started blooming this week! The heavenly scent is filling my yard- oh the old fashioned roses are making their presence known too!
Thank you, Stephanie! Honeysuckle is my favorite scent!
You lead me on a trip down memory lane. I remembered my mom had a honeysuckle bubble bath that I got to use too. I never thought about what they looked like until your I saw your artwork today. I like the colors.
Thank you, Jackie! I had never rely looked closely at the honeysuckle buds before. I’m not sure if they’re as beautiful as the full bloom, but I found them more interesting to paint.
The butterfly peaflower tea adds a delicious background to this beautiful flower. I’m going to have to get some to experiment with. I’ve always loved honeysuckle but mine looks different from this one.
There are over 200 varieties of honeysuckle, so it isn’t surprising that they are different. I wonder if anyone has a honeysuckle garden where they grow all the different kinds?
I still love honeysuckle…..even though it has no boundaries! Such a happy looking blossom and smells so sweet!
Thank you, Judy! I was amazed at how many kinds of honeysuckle there were!
