#doodlewashMay2021 prompts: City & Stone.
Did you know that medieval cities were surrounded by mortared stone walls. These were walls were nearly impenetrable at the time, but limited city expansion. Houses were built taller and taller to make room for growing populations.

The thing I enjoyed most when living in England was visiting the old castles and palaces. We just don’t have anything like it here.
