Dawn with Giraffe-Postcards for the Lunch Bag

#DoodlewashJanuary2021 prompt: Dawn

Did you know that a giraffe only needs about 30 minutes of sleep a day? They can and do sleep longer, and do sleep lying down for short periods. But mostly they sleep standing up with one eye open and both ears moving.

Artist Ambassador for Zebra Pens. I'm a self-taught artist who dances about with all sorts of artistic mediums. My main loves are Watercolor, Zentangle and Ballpoint pen. The subjects of my work are many and varied and change at whim. I'm a little bit crazy, but doesn't that come with being an artist? At my Life Imitates Doodles Blog, I post a list of resource links for Tangles, Tutorials and Giveaways two times a week. I also write reviews, hold giveaways and share my art work.

  1. The combination of colors is striking…that gold sky, that red-purple, that blue. What IS that periwinkle blue. I know it’s gouache….it’s wonderful!

    1. Thank you so much, Judy! I’m trying to remember what I used. I received an Arteza set of 60 color for Christmas, and this was one of the first paintings I did with them. I think I used Sky Blue over Violet. I can’t remember what yellows I used though. I’m still working out the colors I like for a go-to palette. Unfortunately, Arteza only sells in sets, so I may have to return to a different brand.
