New-fallen Snow

Doodlewash prompt: New.

There is nothing quite like the beauty and serenity of newly fallen snow – at least for the first few months, lol.

Did you know that snow is not white? It’s actually translucent like ice. However, light bounces off the facets in such a way that we see it as white most often. This explains why sometimes it appears to be blue or pink, though. Yellow snow comes from a completely different source.

The subjects of my work are many and varied and change at whim. I'm a little bit crazy, but doesn't that come with being an artist? 1. This really captures the layers of snow falling in sunlight. Like one of my favorite carols…”In the Bleak Midwinter” whose chorus sings: Snow is falling, snow on snow….snow on snow on snow…” Beautiful!
