Turtle Texture -Postcards for the Lunch Bag

Did you know that baby turtles use the natural light from the horizon to find their way to the sea? Car headlights, porch lights – any other light can cause them to go in the wrong direction.

And today’s Doodlewash Prompt. Texture. I decided this painting would be all about figuring out how to get the texture of sand. I’m not totally satisfied, but overall, I’m happy with it.

Remember -July is (drum beat) … WORLD WATERCOLOR MONTH! Be sure to check Doodlewash for giveaways and check out the cool World Watercolor Month items for sale! The goal is to raise money for The Dreaming Zebra Foundation and support arts education and our future artists.

  1. Great texture indeed. He seems to be emerging from a sandstorm of his own making….love how the abstraction gives this life to this guy.
