Owl’s Eye -Postcards for the Lunch Bag

Did you know that owls don’t have eyeballs? Their eyes are immobile tubes that boost depth perception. Fortunately, they can rotate their necks by 270 degrees in order to see in other directions.

And today’s doodle…

Doodlewash Prompt: Owl.

Artwork: Zebra Zensations Double Ended Brush pen on Hahnemühle sketching paper.

  1. I LOVE this beautiful OWL painting! And no I didn’t know owls had tubes for eyeballs! WHAAAAAT!???? Amazing.

  2. Love this owl! I knew that owls could rotate their head, but I had no idea that their eyes were tubes. Thanks for the info…..owls are my favorite people. I have a rather large collection of owls from around the world.
