Doodlewash Prompt: Wheat

Did you know that wheat is used in particle board, paper, hair conditioners, adhesives, plastics, cups, golf tees, medical swabs, charcoal and more?

I don’t think it shows in the scan, but it ended up with almost an iridescent look around the wheat stalks, even though I didn’t use any metallics, iridescent, pearlescent or sparkly of any kind. I was surprised.

Tools:

Hahnemuhle Toned Watercolor Book (review)

Da Vinci Gouache: White Titanium

American Journey Watercolor

White Nights Pastel Watercolor set of six

Turner Watercolors – Spring Set: Citrus Yellow, Freshwater, Pale Wisteria, Turmeric

  1. This is a winner. I’m a whole grain girl and a lousy farmer, but even seeing this wheat makes me happy. I love all the pale merging colors in the background….and the white outlined details. Lovely!

  2. So beautiful and alive. I can easily imagine I see the expanse of the field and breezes waving the grains heads.
