Artwork: Da Vinci Gouache in a Beige Toned Hahnemühle Watercolour sketchbook

Doodlewash Prompt: Olives. Did you know that the olive is a fruit, not a vegetable?

I wanted to play with the idea of getting color in black, by using toned paper. I fudged a little by mixing my own blacks with Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna gouache – one mix a little more blue, and one more brown.

I was doing great, but my hand kept wobbling and messing up the line of the dish. I’d adjust, but the color would be a little different and so I had to repaint a larger area each time. Good thing I was using gouache and could easily repaint.

I wasted a little time with Paint 3D – not sure it’s going to work here.
