I’m back from my family reunion in Florida, trying to get over the cold I got while there (really, the family could have thought up a better gift, lol). I’ve used up all the paintings I did ahead of time, and I need to work on some reviews and tutorials.
So. Facebook came up with this: “Sandra, this photo from 7 years ago today was your most loved that year. We thought you’d like to look back on it.”
It was always one of my favorites, possibly because the original was lost along with some luggage. I’d taken it on a similar trip to the one I just took so it seemed fitting for today’s post.
For the reasons, mentioned above I may not post every day this week. Then again, the muse might decide to go mad and art might bloom from my fingers like spring blossoms in the rain. Unlikely, but ya just never know!
I’m so glad you posted it. Its a gorgeous pen and ink sketch…just starting to learn this and yours is WOW💖💖
Thank you, Joan! Pen and Ink used to be my main medium for art, but I did so much that I over-worked my wrist and switched to watercolor. I think that’s the true reason I do a pen drawing before I paint – the pen is just part of me!
Do rest and get well. This black and white drawing is positively LUMINOUS. Really beautiful and with that mystery I love. I’m glad you found it just when you needed it! Take care and HEAL!
Thank you, Judy! I’m sure I will. Next flight though, I’m going to start taking my zinc, Vit C, and echinacea well ahead of time.
Can’t add much to the comments all ready made. Will just say that really enjoyed looking at this when I opened your blog. As most of what I do is based on the Zentangle® method, I am drawn to black and white pen work. Did you use a Zebra pen on this or a fountain pen?
Thank you, Donald! To tell the truth, I don’t remember what I used for sure, but back in 2013 I mostly used Pigma Micron. It was a technical pen of some kind.
Oh this is so fascinating! Very cool. I hope you get over the creeping crud soon. Nothing like a bad ending to a good trip! Rest up and take care. I will be dealing with plumbers all week. I already had 2 visits from them today and they aren’t supposed to start until tomorrow. I’ll be hiding in my craft room all week, nursing a bad shoulder. 😦 Perfect timing.
Thank you, Lori! You sound a bit like me – I always want to hide when repairmen are around. I hope your shoulder is better soon. Once we are both well, and your renovations are done, we need to get together for coffee. We’ll need it after all that, lol!
Thank you Sandra. My shoulder was all better the day the plumber showed up. Things are going good with it all so far. I will be happy to get my house and schedule back together. Yes, I will be ready for that coffee break!
