I hope you’ve all had a fabulous day, no matter what holiday you celebrate or whether you celebrate anything at all. Joy to the World means Joy to everyone!
Did you know that polar bears don’t really hibernate? Winter is actually their best hunting season because they use the sea ice that forms to find their prey.
During the lean hunting season of the summer, these bears go in and out of a state of ‘walking hibernation’, lowering their metabolism, breathing and heart rate when food is scarce and coming out of it when well-fed. Females enter this state while in the den during pregnancy and while nursing young.

Hahnemühle Cold Press Watercolor Postcards (review).
Sweet depiction – just love your paintings!
Many thanks, Mariam!
Your Polar Bear reminds me of what we should be doing in Winter: hibernating and storing fat (though I don’t need to hibernate to do the latter, lol). Love it, Sandra!
Lol! Thanks Kathy! I definitely don’t need to hibernate to store fat. I think just being in the same room with it is enough!
Merry Christmas, Sandra! Want to thank you for the gift of your Doodles and post cards! FYI, I received my 2 “newest” post card tins, and was bummed to discover I’d been sent the last of the lasts for this year. I’ll try again. I send my sister a postcard a month for her “Frannie” collage. Also want to truly thank you for the Mary Roff sketch book review. I bought 6 or 7 various papers, bindings, stitchings, etc. 2 for me, 5 or so for friends was my thought upon ordering. She and I spoke a lot–lovely woman, and my last Etsy text with her was “I’M KEEPIN’ ‘EM ALL!” Gorgeous!
Happy New Year! I’m excited for your upcoming musings. I’m going to have to reread Tangles again. I still don’t understand, but take my hat off to you and your art. Wow.
Last of the lasts meaning I’d been sent a repeat tin pattern for each new set ordered. Caveat emptor!
Thank you, Frances! I don’t blame you for deciding to keep all of the sketchbooks. Mary does such a fantastic job. Sorry you didn’t get the artwork you wanted on the postcards. I usually write and ask the vendor if the tins they are sending out matches the photo – so often it doesn’t. If you haven’t opened the plastic wrap yet, you might write and ask if they have the new art and would replace the old art if you returned it. I’ll bet your sister loves getting those postcards!
This polar bear has lots of personality even asleep. A charming portrait.
Many thanks, Sharon!
