Today, my hubby took a purple cow in his lunchbag.
The Doodlewash prompt for today is ‘Simple Pleasures’. I’ve always enjoyed silly little poems like ‘Purple Cow’, and that is about as simple a pleasure as you’ll ever find, lol.

I never saw a purple cow

I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I’d rather see than be one!

Me, too!
Thank you, Susan!
one of the first poems I ever learned. and probably the only one I can still say ❤
That poem was written in 1895 to illustrate a strange drawing in a magazine. For some reason it became wildly popular so that it is still well known today. The poet came to hate it and wished he never wrote it. He even wrote a follow up poem saying so.
I really like your purple cow. Makes me smile 🙂
Thank you, Jackie!
This cow looks as startled to find itself purple as we may be to see it. Somehow it fits its hybrid nature.
Lol! I think you are right!
