If you are looking for the Life Imitates Doodles Weekly Wednesday Giveaway #14 , you can find it here.
The Doodlewash prompt for today is ‘Shrinking Violet’. There has to be a violet somewhere in this garden. It may have shrunk so much that you can’t see it, lol!
This flower was done for the Scribble Shapes exercises in Charlie O’Shields Sketching Stuff Activity book. I had meant to scan this before I colored it so you could see the shapes better, but of course I forgot. Ah well!
Charlie talks about creating your own coloring pages, and that’s what I’m doing. My pages are pretty complex, both in the scribble shapes I create and in the coloring. I’m an experienced artist so that’s only to be expected.
You don’t need to create something complex. You just need to get your hand and brain working together, and have fun doing it. These exercises are wonderful for that, whether you are a beginner or experienced artist.
