Wintertime! I love the springtime best when everything is starting to come alive again! However, I love the winter because I like to wear long sleeves and boots and sweaters and other cold weather clothing and the fireplace is a great place to roast marshmallows! Spring is my favorite.
I love winter!! snow = fun, adventure, natural wonders, peace, cozy hibernation.
I really love winter, especially when it is snowing. What I love most though is hoarfrost! This gives the whole world such a mysterious touch. And I am glad for the long dark hours – so much time for candle light and cuddling up. And since no one expects me to brave the cold outside, so much time for making art ❤️❤️.
It’s been sub-zero,warmed up then a icy mess!
Winter has been to long indeed I cant wait for Spring!
But thankful for each day!
Thank you for opportunity to win a great prize sandra!!
Considering we’re -50 one day and +50 the next…. i’m Hoping for an early and moderate spring!
I live in the UK and we’ve just had a little bit of snow down here in the south which was ok but mostly it was just a soggy mess with grey skies and cold winds. Not much fun. Spring is on its way though and I can’t wait. In my garden I have lots of plants in flower already – snowdrops and primroses, yellow flowered winter jasmine, winter flowering scented honeysuckle (even some bees have come out of hibernation for that), the rosemary has been flowering its socks off for weeks and the witch hazel is covered in lemon scented flowers. The daffodils are pushing through the leaf litter and the hellebores (Christmas rose) are just opening showing their red speckles inside the white petals. Spring is the best.
As a big crocheter who lives where it gets Hot, love “winter” as it’s my only chance to wear hats and shawls…
I am also a winter person. I like bundling up with sweaters .
Well, I have been known to say, and mean it, “The bigger the sweater, the better the weather!” Our summers get so very hot that I love winter. Rainy days will often result in a lovely pot of homemade soup! Thank you for the opportunity to win these wonderful prizes! Great review, Sandra!
Luckily our California winters are pretty mild compared to most places. But I can’t wait for spring when the hills will be green again, the orchard trees sprout blossoms, and my favorite spring flowers bloom. As a new nature journalist can’t wait to draw these lovel sights, hopefully in the sketchbook i’ve Won.
I love winter! However, living in southeast Texas, we get spring and winter at the same time (today the high will be close to 80, but by tomorrow night it will be in the 40’s.
Definitely enjoying this Michigan winter with our Polar Vortex and whiplash to rain. It’s all beautiful and cozy. Plenty to sketch inside! 🙂
I am enjoying Winter because I am lucky enough to be safe and warm, but I am mindful and worried for those in a less fortunate position during the very cold weather. I am also looking forward to Spring which brings its own beauty and benefits ..and then to Summer and then to Autumn and then to Winter again, because it is the turning of the seasons that make life on Earth so special for me as a temperate zone inhabitant.
I’m ready for some warm weather so am looking forward to spring.
I am looking forward to spring with longer days and warmer weather.
Thank you so much for offering the giveaway and also for the very thorough and well written review on Doodlewash. I am impressed.
I’m less impressed with winter, living in what was last week called the Polar Vortex. Today, just ice! And yes, I’m most definitely longing for spring.
I love winter and spring. I’m thankful to live in the midwest so I can enjoy all the seasons.
I’m ready for spring! I wish we could have 5 months of spring, 5 months of fall and 1 month each of winter and summer! 😀
In South Africa we are having the hottest summer ever. Temperatures ranging from 36 to 42 Celsius. We are praying for Autumn and cooler temperatures.
Spring all the way. Currently all our schools are closed due to freezing rain. Last week the majority of days had bus cancellations due to extreme weather. I. Cannot. Wait. For. SPRING!
I am here in Australia with blistering heat zapping all my energy, would love a touch of your winter to cool us down
Springtime! I love it when everything starts growing and you see everywhere new fresh colors 💞💞.
I love winter! I wish it would snow today!
I love winter … and spring … and autumn. Summer is a bit hot where I live …
Great review. Thanks for that, as well as for this giveaway. Being in the San Francisco Bay Area, I can’t really complain about the winter weather compared to what others are dealing with. Still, I am not a fan of the cold or the rain so I am definitely looking forward to some warmer spring weather. The daffodils have already started blooming so I don’t have to wait much longer!
Spring, when everything is fresh and new but not too warm yet!
I love Spring when it’s not too cold or too hot. Love sweater weather!
We’re in full Summer mode around here in Brasil! Been almost melting from all the heat on the last week, so a touch of Winter (or our soon-to-be Autumn) would be great! Thanks for the opportunity, dear! ❤
Loving this winter as we are getting much needed rain here in California. And even as I write this, Spring has already crept in, peeking out in tiny white flowers on the trees around us. The best of both seasons all at once!
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway – love your posts!
I live in Southern California, so I love winter.! We get some rain (hooray!), cooler weather (yay!) and clean air (yippee!) Life is good in the winter here.
I love winter especially with snow but also love the Spring and seeing all the new growth!
I cant wait for Spring.
Yearly I enjoy how February arrives in blue tones….and departs in green tones. Lovely to watch. Lovely to paint. A journal is the perfect way to capture the transition!
Winter should be cold and crisp, preferably with snow – those are real winters! This soupy grayness is a little wearing to be honest. Then halfway through February the mornings become a little lighter, and the darkness in the evening comes a little later, and you know Spring is not so far away.
I love winter when it snows, but since we haven’t had much to speak of, and it’s just cold cold cold, then I can’t wait for Spring! 😋
I want to love winter, but it is not being nice to my pipes… T–T
Hi All, With the preface of saying what is happening with our weather? I spend most winters in Southern California because of the warmth and sunshine and this year has been weird. Lots of rain, wind and cold, although the desert will bloom later with a cascade of co!or. So I will stick with winter in southern California and hope it gets warm soon.
Thanks Sandra, loved your review, will have to locate the Hannemuhle Report and Art book, appears to be right up my alley. Mary Hillebrand
I usually can’t wait for spring, but I’ve really been enjoying all the rain and thunder we’ve been having here in So Cal.
Thanks for sharing such great supplies in your giveaways and great tips in your blogs.
I can’t wait for spring, but I do seem to spend more time drawing in the winter lol.
Wow, thought I would be in the minority. . . I LOVE winter and cringe when people look forward to spring. . . though that’s nice too. 🙂
we usually have mild winters here in NM, I love that we get to enjoy all 4 seasons, two of them are WIND, tho. But I can’t wait for spring/summer to get here!!
I love painting winter, but I’m all about being warm. Bring on Spring!
I enjoyed our very brief Winter but look forward to Spring!
I could do without the ice and below freezing temps- keeps me from outdoor sketching! Bring on Spring!
I’m enjoying winter because I feel that I have permission to wind down a little in the evenings, put on pjs and paint and sketch a little. And sleep.
Snow is great…but the bitter cold has been a winter mood killer!! Thank goodness for the Spring like warm up!
SPRING!
Thanks for the opportunity to win all these great goodies! I cannot wait for Spring. I love all of the seasons except for Winter. It isn’t even the snow and ice and cold that gets to me about Winter. It’s the grey, dull, flat light. I am longing for blue skies and green leaves.
I love the winter because there is no better feeling than to have gone out and gotten cold and wet and then come home and get warm and dry. Aaaaaahhh! I love the forlorn look of the naked tree limbs against gray skies. But after a while I long to see the tiny leaves and blades of grass peeking out and bringing with them the promise of Spring.
I love that I live in a area that mostly has four seasons, even though spring seems a bit short sometimes. I like to paint, read, knit and cocoon by the fireplace, so winter suits me. My favorite however is fall with all the colors and the air is just stating to get brisk enough for sweaters and scarves.
I am not enjoying this winter. It was not fun being in the polar vortex with a low of -29F and no mail delivery. So, I am looking forward to the early spring that Punxsutawney Phil has predicted :))
Love the ice or snow layered on tree branches. Love the footprints of animals in the snow. Love brisk air.
Spring! Though I just moved from New England to VA this year so the winter was much more tolerable.
Honey, at my age, as long as I wake up on the right side of either the snow or the grass, I’m happy! Makes no never mind to me if it’s hot, cold or in between. Just as long as my friends and family are OK and I have the ability to play with all my art stuff….then I’m a very happy old lady!
Cannot wait for spring time as I love painting flowers and painted snow makes me feel cold 😊. Thank you for your review of the materials. I want to experience them as well.
Snow today….the first in awhile….love the fresh white in winter.
Winter for me for sure!
I used to love winter as a child when I walked on crunchy snow and it sparkled in the sunlight. Now, many years later, my joy in the snow is watching it melt. But until then, I draw and paint and turn my pens or brushes in my hand, savoring the expanding light, as I touch them to paper or Zentangle tiles. I loved the demo on the Hanemuelle (missing Germanic accents) and hope I’m lucky enough to win one!
I’m telling myself to enjoy this Southwest winter (which has been colder than normal) because all too soon it will be summer and 100! I am noticing more birds singing, so I think Spring is on its way despite all last night’s snow on the mountains.
I am enjoying winter!
Around here we turned into an ice land over night. Schools have had 11 days of closure. We have been housebound for weeks so yes, I am ready for a touch of spring:):) THank you for this opportunity!
I am enjoying winter since our winters are often really mild and short… and a bit of snow and ice tends to reset my year. Now, if I lived where they have below 0 temps, I would be waiting for spring!
This winter has been so mild, I was missing winter – until I woke up to snow this week. Now I have had my touch of winter! . . . I like just enough snow to be pretty to look at and then I want it to get out of my way – LOL . . . . And yes, I’m already scouting the yard to see if Spring is starting to sprout . . .
I’m looking forward to Spring. I’ve had enough Winter … dreaming of spring bulbs, warmer temperatures, flowering trees ….
I am looking forward to spring and getting back in the garden!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I am so over winter, it has been entirely too cold and I can’t wait to get outside again to paint.
I love winter…more inside time for arting!
I am soooo ready for Spring!!
I love the winter time because snuggling up in a blanket and drimking hot beverages like hot chocolate is heavenly. I love the snow and my birthday is in the winter, it couldn’t be any better.
I hate the cold and wet so Winter is my worst season. I tend to hibernate a bit by choice! I love the summer best of all, but spring comes second.
Now that the Polar Vortex has broken and temperatures have returned to a more reasonable winter freeze, it’s a bit better. However, it’s only the beginning of February, so I don’t expect I’ll truly enjoy the weather until April…
Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
Winter….like sleeping under a down comforter and staying inside baking, painting, quilting.
Spring…getting outside in nature, camping, taking walks, sitting on the porch.
Guess I like all the seasons!
Linda, Michigan
I am enjoying winter. It’s been mild and beautiful this year.
Winter is a fine season…. I just prefer to be outside a whole lot more than I can be in the winter in Michigan. I’m ready to forget what it’s like to be stuck inside now. 🙂
I have to choose winter as it’s the best time of year in Phoenix, and we only have a few months of perfect cool temperatures before the heat of summer hits.
My favorite time is spring, when all the birds return and mornings are filled with their song. 😊
I can’t wait for spring! This year the temperatures have been brutally cold followed by ice storms and freezing rain. It means I haven’t been able to keep up my walking………so I guess I’ll have to stay indoors and make art! Lovely giveaway!
Prefer the beautiful greens of spring when trees and flowers start to come to life again 😊!
I love winter because I don’t get enough of it here in the Deep South! It’s 65 degrees at 3pm and 34 degrees at night. During summer, temps hover in the mid to upper 90’s…or 100! I’d like to have beautiful snow every year! It would be most wonderful for these hot flashes! Whew!
Don’t get enough winter here. It is blue sky and red cliffs with snow on top. summer will be here soon enough with temps in the 100’s. But it is a dryheat 😉.
To me, winter is like to plan a new start in spring
(sorry for my English, I hope you understand what I think…)
Winter, love the first snowfall and it is not over yet where I live. Have to say when winter is winding down I look forward to the next season, Spring! I’m grateful I live where the seasons bring change.
This winter has been different, as I have been in a warm climate, caring for my 90-year-old mother who is battling cancer. So this winter I have been enjoying swaying palms instead of shoveling snow. Now I am dividing my time, so I’ve had some snow, and look forward to spending more time at home in the north, watching spring emerge bit by bit — especially the lilacs, which I’ve planted over the years at my mother’s request. Two years ago she came for lilac season for the first time! I have many plants that she remembers from her homeland, Germany; Maigloeckchen are her favorite!
I absolutely love when winter merges into spring. I find it intoxicating as I will remain outside as long as I can after work. I breathe in the season change as deeply as I can and can be found down on the ground looking for life coming forth from the ground.
Living in Southern California, we don’t usually have much of a winter so I am really loving this winter with more rain than usual and crisp cool air with beautiful skies. The local mountains are also covered in snow which we haven’t seen in quite a long time.
I prefer spring, when nature starts to come to life and the temperature is more bearable. I love the flora and fauna and welcoming the Bees into my little Welsh garden.
I love winter! So much amazing beauty in the Northland, and the constant reminder that we humans are not in control– no matter what we think.
Welllll, winter is lovely – I shouldn’t complain living in California! However, I thrive on a bit more warmth and a LOT more hours of light. (Since you asked!) Thanks for your generosity!
