Got Lemons, make lemonade; Got Bleed-thru, make bleedthrumanade.
Letraset Promarkers(you can substitute other alcohol markers or other ‘wet’ medium, such as watercolor, that will bleed color through to the back of your paper)
Letraset Black Fineliner(you can use other fine line pens–Micron Pigma, Copic multiliners, Staedtler Triplus, etc. The criteria is that the black pen does NOT bleed thru to the back of the paper).
Pentel Sunburst white Gel Pen (or other white gel pen, such as the gellyroll, or Uniball Signo)
3.5″ x 7″ (9 x 18 cm) Paperblanks Journal (or any other journal with paper that allows bleed-thru)
Preheat your self to FUN.
Step 1. Color one side with Promarkers, placing the different colors at random on the page. Be sure to place cardboard or plastic sheet beneath so the bleed doesn’t transfer to a third page or onto your clothes or furniture.
Run the colors together. Vary your strokes between straight lines and squirkling. Leave the white of the page showing if you wish.
Step 2: Tangle the front side with your black Fineliner pen. Let the different colored sections be your string. Where the color is dark, you may wish to switch to your white gel pen. You can also add highlights with the white gel pen.
Step 3. When the front is done, flip the page, and tangle the back side with a black non-bleedthru pen. Rotate the page if you wish, to help freshen your perspective. You can use the same tangles if you wish, but put them in different sections. Don’t hesitate to come up with totally new tangles if the bleed-thru suggests something new to you.
